How we rate
We don't sell anything directly. We cross-check each product's specs, ingredient list, the brand's official information and thousands of public reviews to give you an honest score.
Our process
Amazon data
We start from the product's Amazon US listing: price, rating, review count, features and spec table.
Official sources
We complete and verify the data with the brand's site and specialist retailers. If a detail can't be verified we leave it blank (—): we never make it up.
Real feedback
We read buyer and expert reviews to spot what repeats: the good, the bad and who it works for.
Editorial score
We score each criterion from 0 to 10 and recalculate scores when new products arrive, so they always stay comparable.
The criteria we score
Efficacy
Does it deliver? Actives present, brand studies and results buyers consistently report.
Texture
Feel on skin, absorption and how it layers with makeup.
Ingredients / materials
Quality and apparent concentration of actives versus fillers; formula transparency. For tools (sponges, brushes), quality of materials and build.
Gentleness
Tolerance for sensitive skin: fragrance, exfoliants, allergens and irritation complaints.
Satisfaction
Amazon average rating and review volume, adjusted for how consistent the feedback is.
Value
Price per ounce versus what it delivers and versus alternatives in its category.
Independence
We earn a commission if you buy through our Amazon links, but brands don't pay to be listed or for their score. Prices are indicative and shown with the date we checked them.
